| Deepak Chopra |
Dr Deepak Chopra is probably the one author in the fields of consciousness, sprituality and quantum physics that can integrate all three into unified views. This is no easy feat, particularly if you consider that his views on quantum physics are really based on his expert knowledge of neurology as his field of expertise as medical doctor.
I have read many of his books including:

What I believe Robert T. Caroll and Richard Dawkin fails to see is that when you are on the forefront of scientific discovery, there are a lot of jumps or conjecture necessary to hypothesize and theorize. Since little proof of the spiritual exists and the proof on the fields of consciousness and quantum physics are also slim pickings, concrete proof of the convergence of the three will be very rare. What is required, however, is a slight elevation from hard evidence and look at the direction in which the existing evidence point and where the greatest minds are heading with their theories.
Consider that Einstein's relativity theory had to wait more than 50 years to find proof. Stephen Hawking's theories around time is yet to be proven, but there is sufficient proof pointing in the right direction to find acceptable levels of conjecture in his work. The same hold true for Dr Deepak Chopra's work.
I offer no opinion about his Ayurvedic medicine and associated views, but his insight into the psychology of the concept of God in "How to know God" is profound, while his interwoven understanding of the construct of the universe in "The book of secrets" is so overwhelming that the book cannot be read in one sitting. This is the value of the man. He sees the world as UNITY - as a whole or to use acceptable jargon, holistically. His understanding of the universe in its totally is unrivaled in my opinion and his contribution to consciousness studies and the field of sprituality will be a legacy for generations to come.
