| Wayne W. Dyer |
Dr Wayne Dyer's work was first introduced to me by a video from Louise Hay called "You can heal your life". I loved the simplicity of the man and the wisdom based clearly on life experience from which he discussed matters of spirituality. Dr. Dyer seems to understand something about the themes that The Secret has been otherwise misconstrued (in my mind anyway) so badly. He has a deep sense of reality as what he talk about was born from him experiencing it as such and not because he had studied it only. This gives him great authenticity. When you watch his video clips (on Youtube), you see a very friendly open and loving face, which is all over his material.
I also like his approach to meditation and guided meditation. I would love to say that am an expert on the field of meditation, but I am not. I have had some experience, but it is not part of my daily routine. Dyer, however, seems to meditate quite regularly and he describes that he often meditates before writing as he feels that he has greater access to his creative sources having meditated. This is profound as it gives us a glimpse into the portals of pure consciousness. Pure consciousness is pure potentiality, as Deepak Chopra calls it.
Quantum physicist calls it the superposition wave function or infinite possibilities. Creativity for him is tapping into one of those possibilities and manifesting it into reality - quantum physicist calls this interface quantum decoherence (more about that under Stuart Hameroff).

| Wayne W. Dyer |
If I have a criticism of Dr Wayne Dyer it surrounds one of his latest books, "Living the wisdom of the Tao". I haven't read it, but my disappointment is rooted in his association with religion. While the Tao is not a very well known Western religion, it is a very dominant religion in China. Being areligious (I used to be very Protestant), I believe that religion has a way of limiting consciousness and spirituality as it always aims at setting boundaries to the boundless. Every religion has its dogma, its set of beliefs and the sooner you set things to be this way or that way, it becomes limiting. Regardless, I am a great fan of Dr Wayne Dyer because he is so real. When asked whether he is enlightened he said "no". Like you and I, he too is on a journey and happy to share his experiences.
Not the arriving at enlightenment is the objective (Eckhart Tolle has a few things to say about that), yet understanding that you have not arrived helps people to associate more closely with you and Wayne Dyer does that very well.
